A magical night cruise on the Amsterdam canals
Our Amsterdam evening canal cruise had a magical vibe from start to finish. With so many old buildings illuminated, the city looks like scenery from a fairy tale. These lights are reflected on the calm waters and make it even more mesmerizing. What impressed me the most was the sight of the reconstructed wooden ship outside the Maritime Museum. I felt it almost transported me back in time when such ships ruled the waves. Thanks to the audio guide, I learned a lot about Amsterdam's history and its charming canals.

I went on the Amsterdam night cruise after an entire day of sightseeing and riding rent-a-bike all across the city. My legs and back were aching, so it felt comfortable to just sit on a boat and relax with a glass of beer. - There are two origin stories about the Skinny Bridge. The first tells the tale of two sisters who lived on the opposite sides of the Amstel River. They used to meet on the bridge, and as they were both skinny, the bridge became known as the Skinny Bridge. The other explanation is more historical-based. Namely, the Skinny Bridge used to be so narrow that two pedestrians could barely pass through at the same time.
