While exploring the Rijksmuseum, you'll be able to delve deeper into the remarkable paintings of Dutch Masters. The simplicity and realism of Johannes Vermeer's paintings show everyday scenes from 17th-century Holland. Looking at his masterpieces, „The Little Street“ or „The Milkmaid “, you'll feel as if you are looking at a photograph from hundreds of years before the invention of the camera. A similar can be said of Jan Steen's paintings, which often focus on lively themes. The best example is perhaps „The Merry Family“, rich with movement and playfulness, a slice of the life of ordinary people.
